I am getting reply from router but cannot go online-modem is not giving replies

Here I am writing the normal steps to fix the issue when your modem is not giving reply to your computer.

How to check the connectivity issues in your Local network

While your computer is receiving replies from the router and not the same from modem,we can pin point the issue as follows.

Your modem is not connected to the router. So to fix the possible reasons for the issue are:

1. Your modem has no connection to the router.

2. Modem is failed.

To fix the issue follow the steps below.

1. Check the physical connection between modem and router.

Make sure the cables are connected properly and the associate lights of for the ethernet connection is on.

2. Power cycle the modem.

To power cycle the modem we need to unplugg the power cable from the modem and router. After unpluggin the cable we need to waight for one minute. After one mnute reconnect the powercable to modem first. After 30 seconds connect power cable to router.


After power cycling the network try to go online.
