Are you a fan of Google Buzz? If yes the new decision of Google may be hard for you. Google is about to shutdown some of its less popular products and Google Buzz is also listed here. In a recent Google blog post, they have mentioned few products which will be discontinued. The final day for those services seems to be January 15, 2012. According to the updated list, Google will shutdown following products.
1. Code Search
2. Google Buzz
3. Jaiku
4. social features of iGoogle
5. University Research Program for Google Search
Google Buzz was introduced by Google to compete against Facebook and twitter. However, Google Buzz failed to make a big success and now it is replaced by Google plus. Since Google plus is a success, Google decides to shutdown Google Buzz service. Code Search was intended to help developers to find open source code in the web. This service will be closed on January 15, 2012. In the same way Jaiku, a social network site acquired by Google will shut down on January 15, 2012.

I don't think we can already say that google plus is a success! Only time will tell, we'll be able to judge in a year or 2
