Deactivate and Get Refund For Automatic BSNL Value Added Services

Yesterday night while reading a book, I received an SMS alert from BSNL on my Phone. The message said that the Value Added Service Full Songs had activated for seven days with the cost of 49 Rupees. While checking balance, BSNL cut 49 Rupees for this automatically activated Value Added Service. I do not even know this FullSongs Service and what this service does. The exact message I received is "Thanks for Subscribing to FullSongs (56060) Service. You have been charged RS 49.0 for 7 days. To Unsub send SMS STOP or call 155223 (tollfree) ".

The irony is that I never subscribed for this FullSongs Value Added Service, but BSNL had activated it from their end and cut 49 rupees from my balance without my permission.

I never wanted any Value Added Service from BSNL, but they activated the FullSongs service without my request. I send STOP to 155223 immediately and called the same number and followed the IVR menu to confirm the cancellation of FullSongs service and to ask for a refund.

My Experience With BSNL Customer Care
The executive who took my call was initially reluctant to admit the issue, and he claimed I only activated this FullSongs Value Added Service. After a few minutes conversation, he admitted that it was not the first time he faced this issue.

  1. PING: Transmit failed. General Failure
  2. Error 777: The Connection Attempt failed due to Remote Computer Out of Order
  3. Use Reliance Jio Free SIM in 3G Or Ordinary Phones Doesn't Support 4G LTE

He also said that he had received many complaints about automatic activation of BSNL Value Added Services.

  1. BSNL STV Activation Codes
  2. Hard Disk SMART Command Failed Error
  3. How to Recover IRCTC Rail Connect App Username and Password

He told me he could understand my feelings, but BSNL did not allow him to issue a refund for this automatic FullSongs service activation.

  1. Activate Disabled WiFi On BSNL Wireless Modem
  2. BSNL Modem Port Forwarding
  3. Solve Latency Issues

When I inquired the steps to get a refund for this unwanted FullSongs service activation, he told me the only way to get a refund for canceled Value Added Services is to contact local BSNL customer Support Center.

  1. I Kall N9 7 Inch 3G Calling Tablet With Android Review
  2. Link AADHAAR Card Number With SBI Personal Bank Account
  3. Change JioFi Factory Set Wireless Network Name and WiFi Password

He also told what I did (canceled the Fullsongs immediately ) was right as this type of Value Added Service would be renewed in every month automatically. The cost will be automatically deducted from the main balance every month.

How to prepare model for 3D printing

We all know that 3D printing is either here or at least just around the corner. But there’s more to 3D printing a model than just slapping some meshes together and calling it a day. You have to prepare your model to be 3D-printing ready, and we are going to tell you how to do it. The first step ideally happens even before you open your 3D modeling software. You should consider the material you are going to print it in, as well as the technology used for the printing. Can you have interlocking parts? Do you need escape holes for support material? Can the material and the process support all the shapes and the level of sharpness that you need? You must think about it before you model, and check out the printing and material guides online. 3D printing vendors want you to succeed and usually provide clear and exhaustive detail on what certain materials and methods can or can’t do.

While modeling, you should also consider the center of gravity, because you don’t want your model to topple over or require supports. You should also be mindful of any small and intricate details - materials and printing processes have their limitations and some of those limitations affect the level of detail.

Think about the size of the object. Printers have their minimum and maximum bounding boxes, and those have to be taken into consideration. Certain materials have issues, too, as they shrink during the production. Design with these tolerances in mind. Or, if it’s too late for that, fix it in your software.

You should also make sure that all the shells, all the parts of your model connect. 3D printing companies are more than ready to charge you for the number of parts on your model, so make sure that turrets stay on the tanks (or are connected to it by the sprue), hair connects seamlessly to the cat and so on.

You might also want to check your model for any ngons - anything with over 4 sides or 4 vertices is considered an ngon. Those should be corrected and reduced to quads and triangles, as printing software finds those more palatable.

Now that you have a model, you should take care of its thickness - which is important in software that’s not primarily designed for 3D printing. Blender, Maya, and others make models with walls so thin as to be unprintable. Now, it wouldn’t really matter that much if you were printing the object as a lump. The tricky part is that you want to hollow out your out because many 3D printing companies price it on mass. Holes are needed for the support material to pour out and save you money. And that’s why you suddenly need thicker inner walls. Luckily for you, your software usually has tools which can increase thickness automatically, with a variable result

s. Except that it leads to fun new adventures like hunting for non manifold geometry, which means edges that are connected to more than two faces, overlapping faces and other modelling relics that won’t print well. While you’re at it, check out for any stray faces created in the geometry while you were applying thickness to the model. You should also look for holes, because the models should be generally water-tightOh, and look for inverted normals: the appear normal in your modeling software, but the printer will leave holes.

However, automatic thickness might not provide all of the thickness that your material or printing process requires, so you have to charge it once more, making suspect parts thicker. The good thing is that some websites like Shapeways let you upload the model and then they show you any possible issues with wall thickness or loose shells (not with holes, though - they have no way of distinguishing a hole that’s been designed from a hole that’s random).

The last and the easiest step is making sure you export the model in the right format. It all depends on the printing software in use by you or your printing vendor. Again, this information isn’t hard to find and modeling software usually have many options for export.

Or you can just say “screw it all”, and buy 3D printing models on a website like CGTrader.With 19,000 3D printing-ready models on site, they will have anything you need. And with 5,000 of those models being free, it might be cheaper than doing it yourself, too!

Update:

This article does not count the after effects of demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes and recent Reserve Bank's instructions to limit the transactions using Jan Dhan accounts opened. There are restrictions over the amount which can be deposited in Jan Dhan accounts after 8 November 2016 on the war against legalizing black money in India using those accounts. One of the easiest way adopted by black money holders to legalize their black money was to deposit unaccounted money (old 500 and 1000 notes) to Jan Dhan accounts and withdraw in the form of new currency notes. This movement forced Reserve Bank to strictly monitor the Jan Dhan accounts transactions. In addition to this, there is a restriction over daily withdrawal (not online transaction) in the form of currency to limit the possibility of exchanging old 500 and 1000 Rupee notes with new currency notes.

Precautions For ROM-0 Router Vulnerability To Hack Access

If you are still using older versions of Small Office Home Office devices for your home or office, it is the high time to consider updating them. A common vulnerability found on SOHO routers and Gateways (unfortunately even on the models which are still in the market) called ROM-0 vulnerability which lets an external intruder hack into your network router /gateway partially or even fully and gains control of it. If you have installed the lasted version of Avast on your computer, it features 'Home Network Security scanner' will tell you whether your Gateway is affected with ROM-0 vulnerability. This article is intended to inform you about one of the common network vulnerability which is utilized by hackers to gain access to the router, ROM-0, what is ROM-0 vulnerability and how to prevent your router from it.

What is ROM-0 vulnerability

ROM-0 vulnerability allows an attacker to request ROM-0 through HTTP port. Which means if the port 80 is open on your device, a hacker can go into the page " http://192.168.1.1/ROM-0" using this bug. Since port 80 is open by default, you must be very careful. Once the attacker gained access, he can download the username/password combination.

Router Models Vulnerable to ROM-0 vulnerability

I think it is better to tell you the common point in all router models which are vulnerable than list the entire model numbers and manufactures. It is wise to say that all older versions irrespective of manufacture are under this category. If you are using a device which is not having the latest firmware, that device has the potential to be a victim. It does not exclude any specific models of Linksys, D-link, Netgear etc. If any router firmware is no longer updated by the manufacturer, it is wise to replace them immediately with a secure model. So before making your mind to purchase a gateway or router, you must check whether this router model is free from ROM-0 bug.

Have a look at the scan report which discovers the hidden vulnerability.

How to Fix ROM-0 vulnerability

The perfect solution is to replace your obsolete device with the latest model. However, if you are not in a position to spend money on it, you can try the following solutions.

  1. Update your Router's firmware with the latest available version.

  2. Disable Remote Access on your device

  3. Since it is port 80 vulnerability, use a different non using private IP number to start using HTTP traffic.

  4. Use port forwarding to continue to get the HTTP traffic, by using a non-using Private IP address and forward port 80 to it.

  5. By blocking access to your router via external ports, Your router is safe

Set Transparent Background using CSS in HTML

While developing a WordPress template for one of my friends, he asked to have a business form over a transparent background. Though his sentence framing was not clear, his intention was to show the HTML form over a moving banner with a semitransparent background. If the form simply displays over an image, it will create readability issues. He knows, users will not use the form with readability issues and that is why he wants a semi-transparent background which will not disturb the beauty of moving banner but at the same time make the form readable. This tutorial explains the steps to create a semi (if you want, fully transparent ) background on HTML pages using CSS. Have a look at the form below.

This is a simple business form created using HTML and CSS. All it does is to collect visitors business name, email address, phone number and the real name. Though it is a simple form, some users find it irritating as the background image is a distraction while filling the form. By setting a semi-transparent background in CSS, we can make this form look better. To see the difference have a look at the image below.

Now compare these two forms. The semi-white background doesn't ruin the beauty of the background image and at the same time makes the HTML form looks better.

How to Place a Semi-Transparent background layer behind a Form

The logic is very simple.
  1. Create a DIV which cover the form

  2. Set the background color to the DIV

  3. Set Opacity

Note: While giving background-color, you must use RGB format. If you use HEX color code, the opacity will be applied to the form, not to the background.

<div class="bannerform">

<form>
<input type="text" placeholder="BUSINESS NAME" class="form1"/>

<input type="email" placeholder="EMAIL" class="form2" />
<input type="text" placeholder=" PHONE" class="form1" />
<input type="email" placeholder="NAME" class="form2" />
<input type="submit" value="Submit" class="submitbutton" />

</form>

</div>

In the DIV 'bannerform' we must use the following code.

background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4);

Here I use 0.4 of opacity out of 1. If 1 is used instead of 0.4, you can see a white background.

background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1);

See what happens if we use opacity 1.

See the difference? The entire DIV background becomes white. Note the point rgba(255, 255, 255) is equivalent to #ffffff which means white color. If you want to set the semi-transparent green color you should use the below code.

background: rgba(0, 255, 0, 0.4);

If it is blue instead of white and green, the RGB code is,
background: rgba(0, 0, 255, 0.4);
