For those, who are looking for an adventurous trekking spot near Trivandrum city, Vazhvanthol Waterfalls is a good choice. Unlike most tourist spots in Thiruvananthapuram, Vazhvanthol is not popular yet and you can expect enough privacy there. Anyone who does not want to face a crowd in an adventurous trekking, I strongly recommend this place. Our Trip Experience

Before picking Vazhvanthol, we spent enough time to search for best wild life areas and waterfalls in Thiruvananthapuram. After considering the huge crowd, we strike out popular spots and chose the less explored Vazhvanthol waterfalls.

We were a team of 15 members lead by Vino and Siju George Kureekkattu, who are experienced wild life tourists, started our journey from Trivandrum central at 11:30 AM.

We reached Kanithadam check post with in 90 minutes travel. We knew, it was a forest area and no shops and hotels available. So we had food and water as parcel. After spending a little time with local tribal people and visiting their worship place, we continued our walking through jungle to Vazhvanthol waterfalls.
As we expected the route is adventurous and took more time to cover 2.2 KM than usual.

  • Do not forget to bring Food and Water since there is no shops available
