IMD Scientific Assistant SSC Exam Notification

Do you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subjects) or Computer Science or Information Technology/ Computer Applications or Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Institution? If so, you can apply for the post of Scientific Assistant in the India Meteorological Department.

You must apply for the SSC notification to apply for the examination. They conduct separate examinations for students from Computer Science, Electronics, and Physics backgrounds.

If you belong to the Open Category, your upper age must be less than 30 years. For OBC and SC/ST applicants, refer to the table below for the applicable upper age limit.

Jeevan Ram, a regular reader of CoreNetworkZ EdTech Solutions, asked for the basic qualifications required to apply for this examination. As I explained, SSC conducts separate examinations for students from Computer Science, Physics, and Electronics backgrounds.

So, the minimum educational qualifications are:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subjects)/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Computer Applications OR Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Institution/University or equivalent.

The examination would comprise 200 questions, each carrying one mark, and would be of a 2-hour duration. The question paper would have two parts, Part I & Part II.
