Configure D-Link DWL-2100 AP as Wireless Range Expander/Repeater mode

We can configure D-Link DWL-2100 AP as a wireless repeater(Range Expander). To perform this follow the steps below.

1. Access D-Link DWL-2100AP

To Access the AP type 192.168.0.50 on the address bar of web browser and press enter.

How to convert Wireless Access Point to Wireless Repeater=

Enter the user name and password when it prompt.

Default user name : admin
Default password : admin

2. Click on Wireless button in the Home Page

3. Change the option to AP Repeater


Now enter the Wireless MAC address of the root Access Point from which this AP need to repeat signal.

Change Wireless AP to Wireless Expander
To find the wireless MAC and the SSID automatically click on the scan button.


4. Enable Wireless Security on the Wireless Range Expander

The wireless security settings on the Wireless Range Expander should match the security settings on the root Access Point. We need to enter the same settings here too.

Click on apply to save settings.

Not very useful as if you are using wpa on the base station there is no way to put in a key
