Yes.
If you have Ph.D , M.Phil or M.Ed, you can apply without SET. According to the PSC official notification, exceptions number 3 is given below
"Persons with Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed. degree shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test provided the M.Phil in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala."
I have passed Btech in CSE.Can i write the exam
Yes, but subject to certain conditions.
According to the PSC notification 341/2017 those who have Masters degree in CSE can apply for the post of Higher Secondary Teacher in Computer Science. In the case of absence of Masters degree holders, anyone with B.Tech in CSE having following qualification can apply.
"In the absence of qualified candidates in item (1) above B.Tech/ Bachelor of Engineering Degree with not less than 50% marks in any branch of study with Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology from a recognized University."
Unless you have 10 years teaching experience in High School (or passed JR or NET), I am afraid you cannot apply for HSST post with current qualifications.
For those having just PG and B.Ed, only exception allowed according to Kerala PSC notification 246/2017 is given below.
"The teachers who have completed 10(ten) years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education subordinate service shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teachers."
I could not find any relaxation for those having NET but don't have B.Ed in Kerala PSC notification 333/2017. I recommend you to contact Kerala PSC help desk to learn more about it.

how many vacancies in computer science ? can u plz guess, and number of application ?
Kerala PSC has reported the number of vacancies available in HSST in Computer Science as 'Anticipated'. However, you can expect a decent number of vacancies before the expiry of the rank link.
PSC will publish the total number of applicants soon.
Exam calendar has not been published.
B.Tech graduates will be considered only if no master degree holders in Computer Science are available in the final list. You may read the reply given to Jaimon for more details.
The IGNOU university is valueble in this teaching field. I'm completed m.com
But not in regural classes. Is this valueble?
Of course the one with Master degree in CSE if he is listed in the rank list.
@Shafeekc555
Unless it is specified, "only regular degree holders can apply", those having degree from IGNOU can apply for PSC examinations.
Really a BAD decision from Kerala PSC to eliminate BTECH CS/IT candidates from the Rank list as its considered as equivalence qualification to MCA/MSC
I do understand both MCA and B.Tech in CS are B level. However, this idea cannot be implemented in teaching field. In teaching field a PG is PG and UG is UG. If you are serious in Government service, I advice you to prepare well without minding this discrimination. After all it will be a good experience in Government job tests.
@SANI
Keep an eye on the link below. Kerala PSC will update the exam syllabus soon.

For which subject you want to know the number vacancies reserved for SC?
According to the gazette notification 341/2017, those having M.Tech in EC can apply for HSST post. Criteria is quoted below.
"M.Tech Degree with not less than 50% marks in Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics Engineering from a recognized University."

According to gazette notification 338/2017, 50% marks in PG is required. The condition is given below. I strongly recommend you to contact PSC help desk to know any new relaxation on this rule.
"Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by any University in Kerala."
Even if you score more than a PG holder, you will be listed in the rank list behind that person only.
PSC has not published that information yet. To enquire about previous year cut off marks, number of applicants in each section, you may contact PSC helpline. PSC call center number : 0471 2444428, 2444438, 2555538 (8am to 5:15pm on working days)

for the psc ranklist

Sindu
No, this exam is not conducted every year
@Sevin
According to the current notification you will not get any extra benefits.
Could you give an idea of the probable cut off mark of HSST Computer Science Category No. 341/2017
exam date 01/02/2018
I do not feel it is wise to give an information, which is purely based on assumption. If you are curious, some leading PSC coaching institutions have already published probable cut off marks.
@Rafseena
According to the notification, you need B.Ed too. Since PSC has accepted your application I suggest you to call PSC help desk for more details. PSC call center number : 0471 2444428, 2444438, 2555538 (8am to 5:15pm on working days)
@ Poorni
You should wait for the next college lecturer recruitment by KPSC. We do not have any information regarding the next notification dates. I recommend you to keep monitor the notifications section in your PSC profile page.
According to the gazette notification 333/2017, those having Ph.D can apply without SET and B.Ed. However, those will be considered to appointment only if no eligible candidates with B.Ed are selected.
@Moinu
Cut off mark is not yet published by PSC
According to the gazette notification 339/2017, a Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the respective subject by a University in Kerala is asked. It doesn't say whether the degree must be regular or not. In addition to a masters degree, you need to have B.Ed and SET to apply for HSST post.
My doubt is,, do we need B. Ed for any other exams ??
According to the notification 341/2017, you can write HSST examination without B.Ed and you already know it. However, I could not understand the exact meaning of your question " do we need B. Ed for any other exams". Can you elaborate that question ?
Is M.ed candidate can apply HSST examination with out SET. Is M.ed equivalent to SET ?
Yes, those having Med in the subject can apply for HSST exam without having SET.
@ Deepak C K
According to the gazette notification 341/2017, you can apply for HSST examination using your off campus MSc in CS. However, you may be asked by PSC to provide an equivalent certificate from any universities in Kerala.
@ princy prakash & Divya Vincent
I do not say anything on expected cut off marks. For SC/ST candidates, there will be a supplementary list for those who have not scored the cut off marks. However, this supplementary list is purely based on the number of eligible candidates in the main list from the same community.

Since you have a masters degree (MCA) with 80% marks, you don't need to worry about your lower percent in your degree examination.
@ Fathima Sajna
If you are looking for a teaching career in Kerala, it is better you take B.Ed in regular course of study. In most of the teaching jobs notifications by PSC, they mention B.Ed from regular course of study from a recognized institution very clearly.
B.Ed Degree is compulsory at the time of notification unless PSC mentions anything like "those who are in their final year". I am afraid PSC may reject you at the time of document verification.
My doubt is .....am I eligible for HSST (geology) exam.
Post Graduation is a must. Since you have received hall ticket, it is better contact PSC helpline (without saying your name of course) and inquire whether there are any exemptions allowed with your qualification.

@ Ardhana
According to PSC guidelines, you should have Masters degree in journalism at the time of notification. However, I suggest you to contact PSC help desk for possible relaxations.
@Vidya Markassery
For results, I suggest you to wait until PSC announce any update on it.
@ Saji George
You can apply as long as you are below 40 years old.
@ Narayana Menon
PSC says B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject is required. However, if you can produce an equivalency certificate, then you won't face any issues.
@ Unknown
Since you have M.Ed. degree, you can appear for HSST exam without SET
@ Unknown
You should have B.Ed too in addition to m.com and m.phil. Kerala PSC may ask you to produce an equivalency certificate from any University for your degree.
Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% is required to apply for HSST post. So, M.com is required unless you can produce an equivalent certificate for your MBA from a university in Kerala.
There is no age relaxation for ex-servicemen showed in the notification. I recommend you to contact Kerala PSC help desk for more assistance.
@ Greeshma P Menon
Yes, you can without SET.
According to the PSC notification 341/2017, those who have Masters degree in CSE can apply for the post of Higher Secondary Teacher in Computer Science. Since your MCA is from another state university, PSC may ask you to bring an equivalency certificate.
"B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study"
When they are going to publish the hsst results
So far PSC has not announced any such difference.
If you have PG from a foreign institution, KPSC will ask you to bring an equivalency certificate from any Kerala based university.
I'm in 12th standard
I have some doubts to become a Government Higher Secondary Physics teacher?what are the qualifications(Degrees),examinations, etc.for fulfill my dream
You must study B.Sc Physics and complete your PG in the same subject. To become an HSS teacher, you need B.Ed in the same subject. Now PSC wants passing SET in the concerned subject to apply for the post.
It is a normal process. It does not mean you are included in the shortlist.
Kerala PSC accepts equivalence certificate from any Universities in Kerala. You may approach Kerala University first.
There are two conditions for distance degree holders.
1. Your distance degree certificate must be from a UGC recognized institution.
2. PSC may ask you to get an equivalency certificate for your degree from any universities in Kerala if your institution is not Kerala based.
For the post of Computer Science teacher in HSS, you can apply without SET and B.Ed
If you have the B. Ed in the concerned subject, you can apply for HSST English.
In the absence of B.Ed Degree holders, candidates having Master's Degree
with not less than 50% marks and who have passed the State Eligibility Test
will be considered. Preference will be given to those who have acquired
Ph.D/M.Phil. Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National
Eligibility Test. The teachers appointed under this provision will have to
acquire B.Ed Degree at their own expense within five years from the date of
entry in service.
