Is the M. Ed holder can apply for the Higher secondary teachertest without the SET qualification in kerala?
ReplyDelete@Mahesh
ReplyDeleteYes.
If you have Ph.D , M.Phil or M.Ed, you can apply without SET. According to the PSC official notification, exceptions number 3 is given below
"Persons with Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed. degree shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test provided the M.Phil in the concerned subject should be one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala."
Sir,
ReplyDeleteI have passed Btech in CSE.Can i write the exam
@Jaimon
ReplyDeleteYes, but subject to certain conditions.
According to the PSC notification 341/2017 those who have Masters degree in CSE can apply for the post of Higher Secondary Teacher in Computer Science. In the case of absence of Masters degree holders, anyone with B.Tech in CSE having following qualification can apply.
"In the absence of qualified candidates in item (1) above B.Tech/ Bachelor of Engineering Degree with not less than 50% marks in any branch of study with Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology from a recognized University."
Sir
DeleteI have passed b tech CSE.. Some university giving b ed for b tech in maths and physical science.. Can i apply for HSA maths or UPSA in kearala psc exam by doing b ed in maths
Tentative date???
ReplyDeleteExam calendar has not been published yet.
ReplyDeleteSir,I have completed master degree and B.Ed in English,but not pass Set exam.Can i apply for HSST?
ReplyDelete@Uma
ReplyDeleteUnless you have 10 years teaching experience in High School (or passed JR or NET), I am afraid you cannot apply for HSST post with current qualifications.
For those having just PG and B.Ed, only exception allowed according to Kerala PSC notification 246/2017 is given below.
"The teachers who have completed 10(ten) years of approved teaching service at the High School level in the General Education subordinate service shall be exempted from passing the State Eligibility Test for Higher Secondary School Teachers."
SIR i have cleared UGC NET in chemistry but i dnt have BEd. Am i eligible for HSST?
ReplyDelete@ George,

sir ,
ReplyDeletehow many vacancies in computer science ? can u plz guess, and number of application ?
Does anyone know, when will the PSC HSST exam starts?
ReplyDelete@ Amal
ReplyDeleteKerala PSC has reported the number of vacancies available in HSST in Computer Science as 'Anticipated'. However, you can expect a decent number of vacancies before the expiry of the rank link.
PSC will publish the total number of applicants soon.
@RRR Hari
ReplyDeleteExam calendar has not been published.
Pls let me know the criteria for considering BTech CS graduates in HSST CS short list.
ReplyDelete@ Lakshmi
ReplyDeleteB.Tech graduates will be considered only if no master degree holders in Computer Science are available in the final list. You may read the reply given to Jaimon for more details.
Suppose a btech CSE candidate got higher rank than a Mtech/MCA candidate then who will be considered for appointment in HSST
ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeleteThe IGNOU university is valueble in this teaching field. I'm completed m.com
But not in regural classes. Is this valueble?
@Arun Chandran
ReplyDeleteOf course the one with Master degree in CSE if he is listed in the rank list.
@Shafeekc555
Unless it is specified, "only regular degree holders can apply", those having degree from IGNOU can apply for PSC examinations.
Do you recommend a BTECH CSE to spend time and prepare for the HSST computer science exam from your experience. Is there any chance for a BTECH candidate getting into the RANK List even they scored very good mark in the OMR exam?
ReplyDeleteReally a BAD decision from Kerala PSC to eliminate BTECH CS/IT candidates from the Rank list as its considered as equivalence qualification to MCA/MSC
From where can I get the syllabus for computer science?
ReplyDelete@Shince
ReplyDeleteI do understand both MCA and B.Tech in CS are B level. However, this idea cannot be implemented in teaching field. In teaching field a PG is PG and UG is UG. If you are serious in Government service, I advice you to prepare well without minding this discrimination. After all it will be a good experience in Government job tests.
@SANI
Keep an eye on the link below. Kerala PSC will update the exam syllabus soon.

It doesn't say whether the degree must be regular or not. In addition to a masters degree, you need to have B.Ed and SET to apply for HSST post.

@ FAISAL SALIM
ReplyDeleteSince you have a masters degree (MCA) with 80% marks, you don't need to worry about your lower percent in your degree examination.
@ Fathima Sajna
If you are looking for a teaching career in Kerala, it is better you take B.Ed in regular course of study. In most of the teaching jobs notifications by PSC, they mention B.Ed from regular course of study from a recognized institution very clearly.

ReplyDeleteB.Ed Degree is compulsory at the time of notification unless PSC mentions anything like "those who are in their final year". I am afraid PSC may reject you at the time of document verification.

Hai.. just read some comments. so one prson had the query of having NET, but no B.Ed. I too had same doubt.. in my search i found this:
ReplyDeleteIn the absence of B.Ed Degree holders, candidates having Master's Degree
with not less than 50% marks and who have passed the State Eligibility Test
will be considered. Preference will be given to those who have acquired
Ph.D/M.Phil. Degree or qualified at Junior Research Fellowship/National
Eligibility Test. The teachers appointed under this provision will have to
acquire B.Ed Degree at their own expense within five years from the date of
entry in service.
