Can I Check My Backlinks Without Any Paid Tools?

Yes, you can check the backlinks to your domain without any paid tools.

There are various ways to find the number of external links indexed in Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Here I am not using any third-party tools to view the backlink count but the methods provided by the respective Search Engines only.

Free and Efficient Methods to Find Backlinks to a Website

As promised, I will teach you efficient ways to find backlinks to your blog. I will not use any paid SEO tools. I will use the legitimate methods provided by Search Engines.

I am not using DuckDuckGo for this test as they use data from the Bing search index.

DuckDuckGo uses Bing spiders to index websites.

Let us explore the different free methods to check the backlinks indexed by Google and Bing.

How to Check Backlinks in Google?

First, let us check the methods to find indexed backlinks to your website from Google. There are two methods to find it.

They are the Google backlink check command and link list from the Google Search Console account.

  1. Google External Backlink Check Command:

You can find the external links to any website by running the backlink check command. Type the following command on the Google search box and press the enter key.

    link:YourDomain Name

    Example: link:corenetworkz.com

    Check your backlinks in Google

This command displays important listed links pointing to a domain. But it does not show the complete list of external references.

So, I recommend the second method.

  2. Google Webmaster Tools to Check Backlink Count:

    • Log into Webmaster Tools using the link https://www.google.com/webmastertools

    • Click on your Domain name

    • Click on Traffic

    • Click on Links to your Website
      Check competitor's backlinks on Google

Here you can see the list of indexed external links pointing to your domain. However, you cannot use this method to check the backlinks pointing to your competitors.

How to Check Indexed Backlinks in Bing?

We can check backlinks in Bing by two different methods.

Use the Bing backlink checker command.

From the Microsoft Bing Webmaster Tools.

I hope you have registered your website in Bing Webmaster Tools. Let us check how to find the backlinks to a domain using the Bing search engine.

  1. Bing backlink command:

Bing has a special command to display web pages that mention your domain name. Use the following Bing command to find the indexed external links pointing to your blog.

    inbody:Your Domain

Type inbody:example.com to find the links pointing to the domain name example.com. Type the command on the Bing search box and press the enter key.

Bing will display web pages pointing to your domain name.

The problem is Bing will not show all backlinks indexed by them.

  2. Log In to Bing Webmaster Tools:

    • Log in using the link http://www.bing.com/webmaster

    • Click on your website

    • Click on Reports & Data

    • Click on Inbound Links

Now you can see the list of backlinks indexed by Bing Search Engine to your website.

  1. How to Reset Profile Password

  3. Stop Redirecting Visitors From ?m=1 Blogspot Pages

We cannot use this method to analyze your competitor's backlinks in Bing (Microsoft Search Engine).

The below method is obsolete.

Check External Backlinks in Yahoo

Yahoo backlink checker command gives more options than Bing and Google Commands. There are two different commands to find links pointing to a domain.
  1. link:Your Website

This command shows the external web pages pointing to the home page.

  2. linkdomain:Your Website

This command shows the entire list of external links pointing to all pages. For example linkdomain:www.corenetworkz.com

You have learned various methods to find and analyze external links pointing to your website.
