Create Log Files for IP Messenger Installed & View History of Conversation

IP Messenger(IPMsg) is a popular messaging application used for communication between computers connected over a local area network (LAN).

Creating a log database for IP Messenger communication is quite simple. The steps to generate log files for the application installed on your system are below.

1. Run IPMSG on your computer.

2. Right-click the IPMSG icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen).

3. Select Settings to open the settings window.

   

4. Click on Details/Log Settings.

5. Click the 'LogFile' button to specify the location of the log file. It will save the IPMsg log file at that location.

   

6. Ensure the Logging available checkbox is selected. Then click Apply, followed by OK.

7. Creating the Log File

   After setting the log file path, navigate to the folder where you specified the file location. Create a text file named ipmsg.

   Let me tell you how I created an IPMsg log file on my Windows 11 laptop. I created a text file named ipmsg.txt in the folder F:\siju\rough.

From now on, the log file will record all IP Messenger communications on your computer. You can read the entire conversation history on this newly created text file ipmsg.txt.
