Can I cross link my own websites without any google penalty?
Can I cross link my own websites without any google penalty ? This was an important question present in webmaster world for a long time. Many webmasters argued that in google webmaster guidelines it is clearly mentioned that we cannot cross link our own websites as it will be considered as link building habit by google. So most of the webmasters took another ways to link their websites from their own website.
Now Matt Cutts from google reveals google's attitude towards webmasters interlinking(their own websites) habit.
In this video Matt Cutts explain ,Google has no issues as long as the inter linking websites are relevant and number of links are not much. Still the issue with placing too many links on a page present so it is the time to better utilize the opportunity provided by google.
I've done some cross linking or link exchange before but I never experienced such Google penalty. Maybe it depends on where you linked your website. If you're linking into a noncompetitive, irrelevant and blacklisted websites, then you'll surely be penalized by Google.
